Lowell Police responded to Linda Gilbert's home on Loring Street around 11:19 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, the office reports.
Upon arrival, officers found Gilbert unresponsive and with apparent trauma. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later determined Gilbert had died from multiple stabbed wounds. Her death was ruled a homicide, the office reports.
